



DISCOVER BELIZE
Formerly British Honduras colony, Belize is the only country in Central America with English as its official language, though Spanish, Mayan and Creole are widely spoken. It is located in between Guatemala to the west and south, the Caribbean Sea to the east, and sharing borders with Mexico to the north. Not far from the equator, Belize has a tropical climate characterised by a dry and a rainy season, benefitting from an average temperature of 80°F all year round.
This relatively small area with a superficy of 22 965km² is divided into six districts : Corozal, Orange Walk, Cayo, Belize District, Stann Creek and Toledo. His capital, Belmopan, is home to government authority and Belize University. Philip S.W Goldson international airport is located by Belize City which is the largest city in the country and former capital, transferred inland to Belmopan following a devastating hurricane in the 60's . There are also a couple of national airports for internal flights, widely used to commute to and from the islands like Ambergris Caye.
